Interactive Geography Education

USGIF is bringing a giant map to GEOINT 2017! National Geographic’s Giant Traveling Map of North America will be on display in the main hall, directly to the left of registration. It truly is a giant map, measuring at 35 by 26 feet!

Not only is the giant map cool to explore and take photos on, but also the giant traveling maps program is a gateway for K-8 students to learn geography through a fun and interactive experience.

GEOINT 2017 K-8 Student Program
K-8 students from the Girl Scouts of Southwest Texas and the San Antonio chapter of Girls Inc. will visit the Symposium June 5 and 6. Students will participate in interactive activities on the Giant Traveling Map to include a satellite imagery analysis game and a scavenger hunt that will test their intelligence skills.

Thank you to DigitalGlobe for helping sponsor the Giant Traveling Map and the K-8 student program. If you or your organization is interested in sponsoring either of these initiatives, please contact Jeff Ley at
